Lyndhurst Baptist Church Welfare department hosts soup kitchen every month, we serve free, hot meals to people in need. This provides nourishment and hospitality to some of the most vulnerable members of society. With high rates of poverty and unemployment in South Africa, our soup kitchens fill a vital role in ensuring people don’t go hungry.

Our Soup kitchen is funded by food donations, volunteers, and goodwill from our esteem parishioners. They provide a safe, dignified place for people to enjoy a nutritious meal. In addition to alleviating hunger, this program also helps foster community and provide links to other social services. Our Soup kitchen serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness, unemployment, food insecurity and poverty.

Over the years our soup kitchen events in South Africa have been anchored by good people with passion, planning and with the support of the communities we visit. The rewards are great for both the guests, underprivileged who find sustenance and the volunteers who find meaning in helping others showcasing the spirit of ubuntu – humanity towards others.
We have reached communities like Alex, Balfour, Bramley and environs.
